anyone up for a little mafia action to help us get through the offseason? I've asked on the darkside as well, so maybe we could get a little cross-Cafe involvement.
mafia is a game that doesn't involve any sports whatsoever. It's something that was done around here to pass time between seasons/games/posts.
In a nutshell you'd have a group of people who would be assigned roles. The base role would be something like Townie, meaning that person has no real role in the game other than to 1) get killed off, 2) survive, 3) vote for lynching. Then there'd be something like a serial killer, who each night would murder someone (no one knows who has what role, is a key point). And usually there was a person or two in a third role of FBI agent, or Sheriff, or whatever, who could do some special killing or intervention, and finally there is a daily vote on who to lynch each day. The idea is to try to guess who is in what role based on what they do or don't say, etc. so it turns into paranoia and accusation and such which is fun because most everyone involved is just a Townie and they have to avoid lynching themselves off instead of the serial killer person. If the serial killer is identified and lynched or just lynched thru sheer luck or killed by a sheriff type, then the townies win. if the serial killer and/or townies kill off everyone and the serial killer lives, the townies lose.
