League for newbies...

Hi All,

I'm English and have a friends that are watching a bit of football. I've been to the Wembley game with the wife for the last few years. Now, there are a few of us interested in football that I know locally, I thought I would try and set up a fantasy football legaue for us all to play. Thought it might get the others more interested in the game.

I am new to fantasy football though. I have played a bit of fantasy baseball on yahoo and was going to use yahoo for the fantasy football too. I was thinking that since the league would be made up of blokes we knew that Head to Head would be a good way to play. What I need advice on is how many teams I need as a minimum and whether I just stick with the default settings on yahoo.

What do you all think?

I would suggest at least 8 people, preferably 10 or 12. If you can't find 10, you should try to add more slots to your starting lineup. For example make everyone start 2 QBs instead of 1, 3 RBs instead of 2, 4 WRs instead of 3. If everyone has superstars in every lineup slot, results tend to be more random and luck-based, so a bigger lineup helps offset having less owners/teams.

Now if you could give me advice on my fantasy Premiere League team... J/K.

Blokes....I love it. Thrifty gave great advise for a bunch of guys just getting started. Keep it simple at first and post questions here whenever you have any doubt....thats what I did

At least 10 teams...anything under that, the majority of skill goes out the window.

+1 on adding more roster spots if you can't find that many.
