Yeah, it's gotten to the point where I wouldn't think twice about passing him in the 4th. The season is right around the corner and he hasn't seen a single rep. This won't end well.
Jaguars Notebook: Mike Mularkey holds out hope for Jones-Drew starting Posted: August 25, 2012 - 7:30pm | Updated: August 26, 2012 - 3:27pm By Vito Stellino
With the regular season starting two weeks from Sunday, Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey left open the possibility that running back Maurice Jones-Drew could still start the season if he returns soon.
With the Jones-Drew holdout at the 31-day stage, Mularkey was asked if Rashad Jennings will now start the season at running back. Mularkey said, “Today he is. If there was a game today, I could give you a starting lineup. Right now, to give you a [lineup for a] game that’s playing in two weeks, I could not do that.”
When he was asked if Jones-Drew could still return soon and start the year, Mularkey said, “It depends on him. What kind of shape he’s in. How fast he picks up the system. I’m not going to put him in a position where he has any chance to fail because in the long run, we all fail. I’m not going to expose him to failure. It’s not going to happen. If he’s ready and all those conditioning wise [things], and he picks it up immediately, the faster he can progress, yes. I don’t know where we’re at right now. I have no idea.”
When Mularkey was asked if there is a point of no return, he said, “I’ve never gone through this process with any player at any position, so I don’t know where we’ll be when we get to it.”
He said Jones-Drew doesn’t have a playbook.
Jones-Drew also can’t put on pads until the fourth day after he does return because of new rules.
Times a wasting and since I dont have him I can care less. The UCLA blood still flows and I hope he is smarter than trying to sit out. Already a million in fines just gave him a demotion not a promotion

Rashad Jennings, everyone. There are two clear cut handcuffs out there; Jennings cuff to MJD and Tate cuff to Foster. Sleeper cuff would be Wilson to oft injured Bradshaw?

MJD is returning to camp. Not coincidentally, this is the week the paychecks begin.
from Rotoworld: "Maurice Jones-Drew ended his holdout and reported to Jaguars camp on Sunday. The holdout lasted 38 days. As a result, Jones-Drew could be slapped with a $1.2 million fine from the team, according to the AP's Mark Long. With players set to start receiving their paychecks this week, Jones-Drew's holdout never figured to last past the first day or so in September. It's going to take the league's 2011 leading rusher a few weeks to get up to game speed, so Rashad Jennings figures to handle the bulk of the workload in the meantime. Still, it won't be long before he's back to 20 or so touches each game. He's back on the board as a back-end RB1 in fantasy drafts."
Maurice Jones-Drew reports to the Jaguars, ends 38-day holdout Posted: September 2, 2012 - 10:20am | Updated: September 2, 2012 - 12:24pm By Times-Union
11: 50 a.m. | Jones-Drew will have a press conference at 2 p.m.
10:50 a.m. | Running back Maurice Jones-Drew followed the advice of owner Shad Khan and got on the train Sunday morning.
With the Jaguars holding firm in their refusal to give him a new deal, he ended his 38-day holdout -- tying for longest in team history -- and reported in time to start collecting regular season paychecks.
He is due to make $4.45 million this year and $4.95 million next year.
Now coach Mike Mularkey has to decide whether to reduce the $1.2 million he was fined.
The other question is what impact Jones-Drew will have after missing the entire off season program.
Rashad Jennings will start the opener in Minnesota next Sunday and since the Jaguars will get a roster exemption for him, it is uncertain how much or whether he will play in the opener.
Idiots. MJD should have been in camp last week. His agent needs firing, the owners legal council has figured out that there is nothing to be gained by renegoiating contracts at threat of holdouts. They have learned fans will watch whatever crap they put out there and that players have precious few years to make money. Too much leverage on one side. MJD should have know that, and his agent sure as heck should have known that. So welcome back Maurice. Hope you tear it up this season, moron.

Report for the check then mysteriously hurt your hammy then just cruise and wait for the new deal? Hopefully MJD isn't like that but it could happen from just not being in football shape and being thrust into the lineup.
