Who to Keep in PPR - Sproles, Murray, or Welker?

Postby heezy » Thu Jun 21, 2012 8:08 pm

I am in a 12 team .5pt PPR league. I draft 8th in our draft in August but I have to decide on two keepers before then. 2WR, 2RB, 1Flex

Which two should I keep between these three players?

Wes Welker - I would have to give up my 3rd round pick
Darren Sproles - I would give up my 12th round pick
DeMarco Murray - I would give up my 11th round pick

Thanks

I would keep Sproles and Murray even if their round value wasn't so great. This is a no brainer to me.

Thanks.

Those are the two I am leaning towards but am having reservations between Murray and Welker mainly because of Welker's dependability, especially in a PPR league.

When the 11th round rolls around, I guarantee you won't have a second thought about Murray and the value you got for keeping him. Go ahead and draft Welker in the 3rd if you want, WR is deep enough this year it may happen. If not you will be able to get a WR pretty similar. Zero chance of getting a RB of Murray's talent in 11.

Murray should be by far your first choice. 11th and 12th round is pretty much a wash; when healthy, Murray was a top 2-3 RB, and if he stays healthy he certainly has the upside to be one of the top fantasy performers for years to come. If you can keep the players year after year you have to consider Welker as your 2nd keeper. Sproles in the 12th is crazy value, but as you said Welker is so dependable. Really up to you, but letting Murray go would be a mistake.

Thanks guys.

I think I am going to go with Sproles and Murray because of the value I am getting for such late rounds and I can probably get a similar WR in the 3rd round.

Same. lose your 11-12 rd picks happily, and you still have an outside shot at welker at 8 if you still want him.
