2nd Pick Help!

Our league changed up the scoring system on me.

6 points for a passing touch down.
.5 PPR

Should I go with Aaron Rodgers with my first pick (I am the number two pick) or with Ray Rice/McCoy?

Definitely go with one of the RB's. My preference would be Rice then McCoy. If you go Rodgers you will be weak at other spots. That .5 ppr with Rice and McCoy is equal to 6 td's give or take.

That just adds to it. One of those top 3 RB's are gold in this league. They catch the ball and get the bulk of the carries for their team.

You should check out the articles section on the top left below Cafe home. There are a few very good quick reads on the RB situation this year. Trust me I play in leagues against these guys here and they know what they are doing.

Every 5 rushing attempts they get a point? Get an RB, Rice over McCoy. That bonus is one not many people will notice.

I would go with McCoy at #2. if you really like Rodgers, look to trade down to #4. You would still be able to get one of the big 3 RB's or Rodgers.

Grab Ray Rice here, no question. Look at last year's numbers for each RB (Rice and McCoy) and ask yourself which RB can repeat those numbers. Despite putting up 20 TDs (which is NOT repeatable), Ray Rice STILL outscored McCoy. Grab Rice here and if you REALLY want a QB you can grab a top 6 guy like Cam, Stafford or Vick in round 2 or 3.

You should still grab your preference of McCoy/Rice... At this moment, I am leaning toward Rice.

I would draft RB's early and often in this format. Getting an extra 4 points a week for a guy that gets 20 carries a game is huge! I might seriously consider going RB-RB-RB
