Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn’t expect injured WR Miles Austin to return to practice this weekBy Rainer Sabin / Reporter

SAN DIEGO — The last time receiver Miles Austin practiced was Aug. 4. That day the Cowboys receiver strained his hamstring. And ever since then he has been out of action.
Now, it’s uncertain when he will return. After the Cowboys’ 28-20 loss to San Diego in their second preseason game, team owner Jerry Jones said it’s unlikely Austin will be back on the field this week.
Asked about Austin’s status, Jones said, “He’s not the one I’m thinking will be back. I am not discounting it. But he’s not really the one.”
Instead Jones indicated both guard Nate Livings (hamstring) and Phil Costa (back) would be ready to practice this week.
“I know we are going to potentially have two come back this week – Livings and Costa,” Jones said. “That’s good. And so I am encouraged. I am encouraged because they are coming back.”
