Marshall, Welker, AJ Green, Julio.......who ya got?

Postby fx495232 » Sun Aug 12, 2012 12:01 pm

I really like all 4 guys this year. My league is 0.5 PPR, 1 point per 10 yds, and 6 points tds........just wondering how you guys have these 4 ranked........

Julio-he has huge upside, and not as low of a floor as some may think
Welker-PPR monster
Green-will see plenty of targets
Marshall-reuinited with Cutler

With PPR, I would edge out Welker just slightly over Julio, but I think he has a great year this year. Then I would rank AJ and Marshall.

Help on mine?

I personally don't see Welker putting up the same numbers this year with the addition of lloyd and possibly plaxico plus the two TE's, but then again it is NE.

My gut says:
Marshall
Julio
Welker
AJ Green

I rank them:
Julio
Marshall
Welker
Green

I am on the Julio bandwagon. I think he is going to be a monster this year

I like that order as well............

Julio should be in a few shootouts with the Saints and Panthers......

and the same for Marshall vs the Lions and Packers.......

Welker should be his steady self............

AJG great talent......not sure if Cincy will pass enough to fully take advantage of it.

As mentioned above, Welker rules in PPR .

For Standard Scoring, Julio Jones looked very good in the first preseason game. He destroyed the starting corners.

Welker should have his usual ton of catches and decent stats. N.E. has an easy schedule and they never take it easy on opponents.

Green is going to get Mega targets. I need to watch his play more. I'm pretty happy with picking Jones and Green rounds 3 and 4 of an early drafting league.

The Marshall/Cutler combo should be good for both of them but I need to see the Bears OL actually give Cutler time to throw before I jump on the Marshall bandwagon.

Marshall dropped a crap load of passes right between the numbers last year and then cried and made excuses in the media, I'm not on the Marshall/Cutler bandwagon.

Welker will continue to put up big numbers but he's got new competition to eat into these numbers in Lloyd. Lloyd is no slouch and he will produce like they hoped Branch should've done.

Dalton will pass even more now that they ditched Benson, no one really noteworthy in the backfield. Green is an emerging talent, on par with Victor Cruz, he'll be an even bigger beast this year.

I think the big hype for Julio last season and the fact I had him but never really impressed, left a sour taste so I bump him under Green.

Green
Welker
Julio
Marshall

I honestly don't think you can lose with any of these guys. The floor for all of them is pretty high. But if you want to look at ceiling...

Julio has by far the highest ceiling. I'm lucky enough to have him as a keeper in a PPR league in the late 3rd round, I'm sure he would've been gone by early 2nd otherwise. Don't kid yourself, ADP for Julio is stupidly low - by the start of the season he'll be going early 2nd.

I'd be going Welker second only because he has the highest floor of all of these guys. Bringing in Lloyd isn't going to hurt him, it'll help. Spreading the defense means more room in the middle - Welker is going to run wild again this year. The only reason I have him below Julio is because his TD total is going to be lower.

AJ and Marshall are a crapshoot. AJ may be slowed down a bit by not having any other receivers to draw coverage, meaning he'll be double teamed all day. Marshall and Cutler could easily go off like they have in the past, but they're both a little older - we'll see if either have lost a step. Even if they haven't, there's no guarantee the magic is still there. I still like Marshall for 80-1000-8 though, about the same as AJ. Maybe a bit higher on the yardage total for AJ (1100 let's say), but I think he'll be a bit lower on receptions (70-75) just because of coverage.
