LeSean McCoy Trade

Postby allegajj » Sun Aug 12, 2012 1:46 pm

I am in the 2nd year of a PPR 10 team keeper league (2 keepers, each keeper is your 1st and 2nd round pick, this is the first year of keepers). I have the option to keep Calvin Johnson, Matt Forte, Matthew Stafford, Roddy White, or Jimmy Graham. I am leaning towards Calvin and Forte but one team is offering LeSean McCoy and wants to acquire draft picks. Would a 3rd and 4th round pick for McCoy be too much? (those would be my first 2 picks after the keepers) The draft order may be based off of last years standings where I came in first so it would be the last pick in the 3rd round and first pick of the 4th round. Or it may be a random draft order, that has yet to be decided. Any thoughts?

I would do it. If you could have a core team of McCoy, Forte and Megatron that is strong. You could still get good QB and WR2 value in rounds 5 and 6.

Help on mine?

He can only keep two.. so he would go McCoy and Megatron vs. Forte and Megatron and lose his 3rd and 4th rd. pick....no way I would do this. You can't win a fantasy football league on or before draft day, but you sure can lose one. My guess is the guy that is trying to deal McCoy has two better options as keepers, so if he gets something in a trade it is better than nothing. Forte and McCoy is the same distance apart as say....A. Foster and SJax.....

just make sure you take M. Bush a round earlier than his ADP

He doesn't have anything better than McCoy. He has gore and Jennings. Should I alter the offer to a 4th and 5th but I dk that he will take it. I think he isn't thinking of keeping more than one player. If I had McCoy and Calvin I think that is a solid core in a 10 team league

A good core that cost you rds. 1-4. You better hit on picks 5-9 with no injuries...no way I would do that deal. Megatron and Forte isn't that big of a drop off to surrender your 3rd and 4th rd. pick.

You would be giving up your draft picks for the first 4 rounds to get 2 guys. That is a bad idea. Your team will have 2 studs, then an obvious drop off in terms of quality players. I wouldn't call 2 players a "core". Those 2 are a nice start, but I agree with Spread Eagles, this trade will cost you severly. The guy is an idiot if he doesn't keep McCoy over Gore. If nobody will pay his steep price, he's gonna end up keeping McCoy and Jennings, so don't go worrying about where McCoy might land. He's just shipping McCoy around because he knows McCoy is his most valuable asset, and somebody just might pay a steep price for the guy.

So you think Calvin and forte are good for keepers? Or should I consider this trade or keeping roddy white, jimmy graham or Matt stafford?
