It's been a tough start for Denver Broncos rookie Ronnie Hillman to show he's ready to be the team's No. 2 running back.
Hillman has flashed plenty of outside speed to go with elusiveness in traffic when's he run the ball, but he has injured his hamstring twice already in training camp.
That has allowed Lance Ball, in particular, and Xavier Omon to showcase their potential contributions.
Hillman suffered a right hamstring injury early in training camp then aggravated it in Tuesday morning's workout on an eye-popping run. He is expected to miss some practice time and may be held out of Saturday night's preseason game against Seattle.
The Broncos had held him out of last Thursday's preseason game against the Bears because of a sloppy field on a rainy night in Chicago, but had hoped he would be ready to go this weekend.
