Who to take 1st overall??? (14 team league)

Postby ThePrez » Wed Aug 15, 2012 5:29 pm

In a $ league where it's 14 teams. PPR league with extra scoring for QB (6 pts TD and 0.5 pts per completetion)

I might try to swap the pick... But here's my dilemma. With the scoring it heavily favors QBs. I was ready to go QB first assuming I wasn't in the first half of draft spots, but naturally I got #1.

Looking at top 2 scorers by position last year, it was:

Brees 629 pts and Rodgers 566
Rice 316 and McCoy 288
Calvin 286 and Welker 271

So you could be getting 2 elite RBs in the top QB... Based off total points.

The weekly roster is: QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, WR/RB, TE, K, D

Thoughts on how to tackle this?

Even if I took a RB, I'm honestly not even sure who to take between AF, McCoy, Rice.

Appreciate any thoughts!

Also... I looked at last years draft results and only 2 QBs went in 1st round but 5 went in the 2nd rd. With 14 teams it's a loooong wait. Would sure hate to then miss out on the top 6-7 QBs this year.

Take rodgers with that scoring and paired with a tier 2 rb will be far better than an elite rb and sub par qb

Thanks. Obviously it's early but with 14 teams... It's tough.

WR class is deep and I could run WR at flex so only need 2 starting RBs each week. PPR will help find RBs and WRs a little later in draft.

What are your thoughts if I swapped picking spot with another team?

To get Rodgers I would need to go to 4-5 overall. I know the guy at 5 is already thinking Rodgers.

Or try to move 7-8 spot and go for Brady or Brees. I would get a quicker pick on the comeback that's for sure.

If I could move to 4-5 spot.. Should I? Or hold #1 and take the back to back picks?
