Evan Royster is still sitting at 10.10 on Fantasycalculator. I'm hoping to snag him at 10.7 coming up in my draft. He's practically a lock to be the starter week 1. I think as we get closer to the season Helu is going to tumble down draft boards and Royster will rise. Royster got all the 1st team snaps in the last preseason game with Helu playing exclusively with Grossman and the 2nd team.
Now will he keep the job? Who the hell knows with Shanahan. But he did finish with fantastic numbers weeks 16 and 17 last year.
Honestly I'm having flashbacks to when Arian Foster brokeout. (By no means am I saying he's as good as him though)

Tate went down for the season, Hightower and Helu both battling injuries right now.
Foster's excellent TC reports and the declaration he was the starter went largely unnoticed by the fantasy community, Royster was praised by the coaches saying he could be as good as he wants to be and he's a 3 down back. He's at the top of the depth chart and no one wants to notice.
Foster went undrafted, Royster fell to the 6th round.
Foster's last 2 weeks of 2009 - 19 carries for 97 yards 1 TD, 20 carries for 119 yards 2 TDs + 3 rec for 26 yards
Royster's last 2 weeks of 2011 - 19 carries for 132 yards + 2 rec for 15, 20 carries for 113 yards + 5 rec for 52 yards.
(week 17 also saw Royster get the start over a healthy Roy Helu)

Royster just looks like the best kept secret in fantasy football to me. Of course Shanahanigans is the reason why.
