How soon to do our draft?

I'm a first-time league manager. How soon should we do our 'autopick' draft?

Any input appreciated.

My first thought would be why autodraft? The draft is the best part of the season! However, if it is how you are rolling, set the draft as close to the start of the regular season as possible so any injuries and positional battles are cleared up

Autopick draft is being used as we have folks from all over the world in our league.... timing issues....

Ah timing a draft is always tough, finding a time that works for everyone. Live drafts are infinitely more fun than autodrafts though, highly recommend trying to find a time that works for as many people as possible.

My primary league always does it the Sunday before the season starts and we all just sort of circle that day to keep it clear.

Time Zone problems, as I said... we have members from the UK, the US, and Australia....

I'm in PST so like to pick mid-week Tues-Thurs around 7pm, to keep the EST people in mind but also allow people time to go home from work. And I avoid the Labor Day Weekend completely.

I'm curious when others prefer to have their draft days, I like it a few days after the last preseason game, but many people do it earlier since you rarely learn anything in the 4th preseason games.
