by Crippler » Sun Aug 19, 2012 4:46 pm Legends Keeper League is entering its 3rd season and there are a few teams who have decided not to return for various reasons, though they are leaving behind some of the best keepers in the entire league!
This is the league that everyone seems to look forward to each season and is definitely my favorite! We're always competitive within the league and all of the owners are active and attentive to their teams. I have no doubt that we'll have more than enough interest to quickly fill our 14 teams, so contact me ASAP to join!
Legends Keeper League has a very solid, established set of rules/bylaws, which every good keeper league needs. Please see the following for details:
-Auction draft each season (August 26th at 2pm EST)
-3 Keepers + 1 Franchise Player per team each season
-Keepers get a $3 salary increase in the offseason, while Franchise Players ($20 or higher in value, must stay on your team the entire prior season) get no raise.
-$8 minimum keeper salary
-100% payout to top 4 teams (14 teams total)
-We take a $10 deposit in your first season, which will roll over each year until we decide to add it to the prize pool down the line. This is to create incentive for managers to return each year rather than abandoning their team, which can be a big problem in other keeper leagues. All current teams have made their deposits, including myself.
-Other basic rules including no collusion.
-All players who are not kept will be dropped back into the player draft pool for the draft this season. Therefore, every new manager will have plenty of chance to build their teams and customize them how they want, with a combination of keepers and new players.
All managers will be linked to the public Google Docs copy of our bylaws.
Our deadline to pay and declare keepers is August 20th, so I can't include a full list of players on the teams that are available yet, but there are a TON of great keepers on the teams that are leaving this season, including Cam Newton at the minimum price ($8)! Some players that will likely be available on the teams for new managers include Aaron Rodgers, Percy Harvin, Ryan Mathews, Michael Vick (at the minimum $8 price!), D. Thomas (minimum $8 price), Wes Welker, Maurice Jones-Drew, Darren Sproles (slightly more than minimum price), Jordy Nelson (slightly more than minimum price), Hakeem Nicks, Stevie Johnson, Phillip Rivers, Steve Smith (slightly more than minimum price), Chris Hohnson, Eli Manning, Ahmad Bradshaw and many more.
**We already have a waiting list to join this league due to popularity of the rules, etc. We have 3 manager on the waiting list and need another two or three to fill the departing teams. To keep things fair and have continuity on each team from season to season, once we finalize the list of new managers, I will run the random order generator to place each new manager on a team randomly. Next, each of the new managers will select their keepers from the list of players on their new team.
Scoring is pretty standard with 4pt passing TDs, .5 PPR, etc. One QB, two RB, two WR, two Flex, TE, K, Def, and a handful of bench players.
