Dynasty - Give AP and get Harvin?

Postby ThePrez » Mon Aug 20, 2012 9:59 am

I have a team that offered me Harvin for either my McFadden, Chris Johnson, or AP.

Should now be the time to unload AP?

Here are league settings and my roster.

Standard Yahoo scoring plus 0.5 PPR
Standard Yahoo roster plus RB/WR flex

QB - Cam Newton, Philip Rivers, Eli Manning
RB - Adrian Peterson, Darren McFadden, Chris Johnson, Rashard Mendenhall, Ryan Williams, Kevin Smith
WR - Andre Johnson, Greg Jennings, Jeremy Maclin, Mike Williams (TB), Laurent Robinson
TE - Jason Witten, Greg Olsen
D - NYJets

I could use the WR depth... plus I could start 4 WRs and 2 RBs each week if I wanted. The 0.5 PPR isn't bad for WRs.

Thoughts?

Well I'm assuming that you can use a flex then if you can start up to 4wrs, even with that I'd need more then Harvin for any of those rb's. I'd lass for now. Good luck.

I say that now is the time to dump AP, but I would want more than just Harvin. Does he have any flier RBs or get some picks out of it.

Here is another idea he has...

Give: AP/Witten
Get: Harvin/TGonz/9th pick in mini draft

That pick would be 1 spot before my selection, so I would get back to back picks.

Not a huge fan of swapping Witten for Gonzo but neither would be a long term solution (plus Witten's health now).

Here are some top players available for our 3 round mini draft (draft includes all rookies and leftover FA's from last year):

Tamme
Blackmon
Redman
RMoss
Fleener
MFloyd
DWilson
AJeffrey
Burleson
RJennings

Other notable rookies available... KWright, Hillman, Quick, Pead, RRandle, and SHill.

So far Luck, Richardson, RG3, and Martin are gone.

No no no no no!!!! lol But I don't think you should move AP for Harvin at all. Don't be fooled at all, AP is an absolute beast and surgeries today are amazing compared to even a few years ago. Mark my words AP will be at full strength next year at the LATEST! People will try to buy low on AP and you don't want to fall victim to this. Make sure to get full elite value for him or you will regret it. IMO of course.

Understood... I'm so back and forth on the idea of trading AP (just knowing how quick he's bounced back currently)... but I know another bad injury and I might be toast. Guess that's true with anyone but just worry with the injury he's coming off of.

Maybe I will just wait till our 3 round mini draft is over and see what I could get for AP then.

I dont like the Witten/Gonzo swap. Witten has been a very reliable TE for the past few years and I expect that to continue. Gonzo on the other hand, is on his last legs. I think you lose that part.

I would hold out for more. Even if you think now is the time to dump AP then you can get more than Harvin, who I think is an injury waiting to happen.
Still looking for that Eagles trophy case...

I say too just wait it out. Harvin is nice, but he isn't full price for AP.
