Jamaal Charles or Adrian Peterson in non-PPR league? WHIR

Postby handslikesecrets » Tue Aug 21, 2012 11:28 am

I'm in a 12-team, non PPR-league with a snake draft.
I have the 2nd pick, I plan on (hopefully) taking Rodgers first, A.J. Greene with my second pick (23rd overall), and then either AP or Charles with my 3rd pick.
In my position, who would you take (26th pick overall, my 3rd), assuming both players are still available and no-one has fallen so far that I can snap them up?
*I know that many feel one should take an elite RB with the 2nd pick, and this situation depends on a lot of variables. Just go with the scenario.

I would rather have Charles because I think he's a safer pick. AP has had more trouble staying healthy than Charles, and is rushing back this year. With pick 2 I would start with rice or McCoy though.

I don't anticipate either of those two players will make the 3rd round, especially AP. I would use my 2nd for a RB and take Green in the 3rd

Let's start with the first question...why are you taking Rodgers #2?

Then we'll move on to the next question...you may want to see who is available and hopefully get lucky that another RB with the injury concerns falls to you...lynch, murray, forte are the obvious hopefuls.

If you have no other choice, man it's a tough call now that AP is out for the preseason. I think I'd lean towards Charles.

Well, I have to say you have an interesting draft strategy. I'd go with a RB earlier myself. Still, that's not the question. If I have to choose between Charles or AP, I go with AP. Looks like he will be ready to roll, albiet maybe hampered, for week 1. His work ethic is incredible and I think he will rehab quick and bring the goods as the season rolls along. Charles worries me because of Hillis.

Either way, good luck with your season.
Thank God for Football Season.

You are extremely overvaluing Green here IMO. AP and Charles will not fall to the 3rd either, as both are commonly being taken mid-early 2nd. I'd look to go with a RB in 2nd at the least.
