Which 7 players to keep?? WHIR

Postby Amazing Oopah » Tue Aug 21, 2012 7:19 pm

Having trouble deciding on my seven keepers for my team coming back this season as defending champions... right now I have the bolded players on my keeper list... coming into this season Helu was supposed to be a strong keeper but his double achilles injury are really troubling and that's the reason why he's on the outside looking in. Also, even with MJD holding out, my thinking is that selling him for pennies on the dollar to another team would be pretty wrong-headed (as well as dropping him into the FA pool), so I should stick with him in hopes he comes back or is traded. Are these the right moves or should I be looking to make place for Helu and/or Deangelo Williams somewhere rather than dropping them for nothing? Thanks for any input given :)

I think that you are on the right page here. These are the 7 I would pick.

i like what you have...wouldn't change it.
Fred Davis was a stud up until he got hurth, he has a chance to make up for lost time.
I wouldn't worry much about MJDs holdout. MJD is the only talent on the Jags at this point, he'll be signed by week one. if not, Davis and Ray Rice will provide you with two good starters until MJD gets signed.
My only concern is Jackson and Johnson. Jackson in that Vick has played two pre-season games and has been injured in both. Plus he missed quite a bit of time in both of the last two seasons. Jackson's value is greatly diminished if Vick can't play. Johnson also worries me because of his QB situation. I might try to package those two for a better receiver...like Jordy Nelson, Roddy White, Wes Welker....of course, if you're confident in Vick's health, then this point is moot.
Matt Ryan rounds out my top 10 QBs...I think you're starting in a good spot.

Good luck.

I don't think you have much choice......the players you aren't keeping, most probably won't be drafted....if there is any benefit in not keeping 7 9is early picks from FA pool) i would consider keeping less than the 7.....

I'm on the other side...i think the MJD thing is going to get UGLY!!!! I expect to see him week 10, so he can chew up a year on his contract.....but I don't Jacksonville moving from their stance, and i have to say I agree with them....they stepped up early and paid the man....now after they get to back of a front loaded contract he complains.....that's why agents make big back ends so the Team will renegotiate prior to the end....
