Early WW pickup?

Postby Stevooo » Wed Aug 22, 2012 12:10 am

Below is my roster and bolded are the starters that are penciled in starters and the rest are my bench (5 player benches). Should I pick any of these up, if so who should I drop? Im looking for a high upside guy. Im unsure of the RB situation in GB now with Benson there.

Ronnie Brown RB, SD
Vincent Brown WR, SD - out 8+ weeks so midseason stash which is hard with only 5 bench players
Laurent Robinson WR, JAX
Mark Sanchez QB, NYJ
Andy Dalton QB, CIN
Nate Washington WR, TEN
Lance Moore WR, NO
Doug Baldwin WR, SEA
Jake Locker QB, TEN
Blaine Gabbert QB, JAX

Thanks WHIR if you leave a link!

I would give a serious look to the WR who has led the Saints in TDs the last two years (not counting TE Graham). Having a NO receiver is always scary, but With Meachem gone, Moore's targets should skyrocket. He had 73 targets and 52 receptions last year. I could easily see that going to 90 and 70. Meachem's 61 targets have to go somewhere other than Colston and Graham.

Locker could be a sleeper too. He just got the starting nod and is a surprisingly good runner.

Think about dropping Starks. Benson will Reign in GB and they don't run that much anyways. That being said I like Lance Moore for his situation (no more meacham).

First off, thanks for the replys so far. Ryan Williams was just dropped and is on the wire. Think he would be a better option than Moore?

I think Williams is inherently worth more due to RBs being so thin. Any remotely viable RB will not sit on a WW for very long this year and I like the way Williams looked in his last preseason game. Also, I understand a lot of you are saying Meachum is gone so Moore will see a boost in targets, and while that's true, neither really effected the others looks when they both were on NO. Moore historically got the biggest boost when Bush went down, seeing as how he is a slot receiver. For Moore to see a real significant boost, Sproles would need to go down. Meachum was a one-trick pony vertical threat. For the record though, I like Moore, always have.
