Crazy strategy?

Postby godd2 » Wed Aug 22, 2012 7:46 pm

I have cam newton (9th) and Gronk (11th) as keepers. i pick 6 overall in a 10 team league.

i am leaning initially towards calvin johnson or chris johnson in the first, whoever is there and calvin with the priority. then getting RB or WR 2nd round.

I have now been thinking about possibly going QB 2nd round if Brady is there. this would give me the gronk/brady hookup and also stop someone else from getting him. i also would have trade bait or insurance with QB since in our league they score the most. we only play one though. also we play a nickel a point for every point you are behind someone, so taking a high scoring qb out would help my bottom line there.

is this a crazy idea?

Yeah, never bank on being able to trade QBs ever, especially with the position being so deep this year. You'd literally be handicapping yourself with the RB pool being so shallow as well this year.
