Handcuffing...... Need Advice!

Postby etl1692 » Mon Aug 27, 2012 9:04 am

So I have kept Fred Jackson as one of my keepers, because he had great value (drafting him in the 9th rnd), which means I lose my 9th rnd pick this year (no big deal). Anyways would it be smart to handcuff JAckson and C.J. SPiller? I have the 8th pick in this years draft.... Does anyone know what round Spiller is most likely going in? I have not done any mock drafts or anything of that sort.

Cheers!

Also is there a certain chemistry to handcuffing? Like how to draft or what not? Only reason I ask is before my draft I'am conducting a cheat sheet with injuries and all that, but one of my categories is "handcuffs" which is where I have every team and their 1st, and 2nd string RB's.

I personally think Jackson and Spiller is a great Combo for me, but would like to know what round spiller is usually going..

I'll say 7th round in a 12 team league is when you probably should target him.

He went 7.1 in one 12 teamer I'm in (the guy on the turn reached on him, a lot of good RBs were left but still)

He went 7.12 in another league I am in, non-PPR.

On fantasy calculator he is going 89 in standard leagues (8.5) and 82 in PPR/Flex leagues (7.10)

Thanks so much.... This is smart though right? To reach out for C.J.?

I wouldn't reach super far for him, but yeah it's smart if you can get him.

He's going from early 8th to late 9th round in my 8-man PPR mock drafts against the computer.

From NFL.com mock drafts i've drafted him myself in all three i've been in. Again 8-man PPR.
Got him in 10th, 12th and 12th.
8-man PPR league

QBs: Brady
RBs: Foster, Charles, D. Martin, Murray
WRs: J. Nelson, Fitzgerald, Bowe, Nicks, T.Y. Hilton, M. Williams
TEs: Graham, Hernandez
K: S. Graham
DEF: Texans

I'd definitely look to add Spiller, but I wouldn't over draft him. They are going to share the carries and word is that Spiller will be more involved this year ( I live in western NY so it's always Bills talk around here). I would say right after you have your starters all drafted id look at Spiller Good luck.

Certain handcuffs take priority when they are behind A) a running back who is 30+ and or B) a running back who is injury prone. I wouldn't go as far to say Fjax is injury prone but he IS coming off an injury and is of course, 31 years old. It would be in your best interest to handcuff him, yeah.
