In standard 12 team CBS redraft Non-PPR league. Start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K and 1D. Roster is.....
QB - Matt Ryan RB - Steven Jackson, Doug Martin, Ryan Williams, Ced Benson, Rashard Mendenhall WR - Julio Jones, Brandon Lloyd, Eric Decker, Sidney Rice, Mike Williams TE - Jermaine Greshem K - Matt Prater D - Texans
Thinking I'm gonna drop Mendenhall and grab Morris. He looked really good last game and reading he's the new Shanahan bellcow. I know, I know, it's Shanahan so he may be on the bench in week 3 but thinking he showed more than that. Was gonna hold out for Mendy but with big rookie picks (Adams, DeCastro) not working out, it's looking like there's not gonna be a whole lot of protection for Roethlisberger or lanes for Mendy. That and he IS less than 1 year removed like Adrian Peterson..... Is Morris worth dropping Mendy for?
As always, leave a link if looking for my humble opinion and thanks ahead of time!
QB - Drew Brees RB - Arian Foster, Ryan Mathews, Trent Richardson, Stevan Ridley, Mikel Leshoure WR - Julio Jones, A J Green, Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas, Kenny Britt TE - Jimmy Graham K - Blair Walsh D/ST - Texans
Same boat my friend. I'm gonna take Royster over Morris, or go Hunter/P Thomas for depth. Mendy has no business on my team.

I wouldn't take him as a starter. If you're willing to risk having 0 points from his as a bye week filler as opposed to the 16 or 17 he could give you, then I say go for it. Pitt is kind of a fantasy wasteland anyway.
As to the guy who responded to you... what kind of idiots are you drafting with? There is no way you should have been able to get any of your top 3 picks where you got them. I would like to join your league next year and help you embarrass them.
Best 1-2 team in the world. 12 team PPR... leading the league in points scored.
QB- Vick, Fitzpatrick RB- Lynch, R Bush, T Rich, R Williams, P Thomas WR- Green, T Smith, Moore, Lafell, Simpson TE- Graham, Cook DEF- Seattle, Philly K- Hanson

Ya, McCoy fell to me 7th! Rodgers, Brady went 1,2 and set the tone for a wacky draft. people panicked to shore position and let value on the table. This happens every year and it becomes a 4 horse race. Have yet to win a crown, but made it to the finals twice. It's standard I lose two studs to injury every year. Sheesh!

So, I'm a huge advocate of Morris. It is however important to keep his performance in context, he was after all playing quite possibly the worst rush defense in the league.
Here's what I like about Morris..
- he's the epitome of a downhill runner, he keeps his legs churning and always gain those two extra yards, this is something WAS has needed since Portis
- he is durable, only being injured once in his career where I believe he missed one game, this is ABSOLUTELY key and is the main reason I believe Shanny has been playing RB carrousel over the past decade (would have stuck with Torain)
- he fits the scheme perfectly (better than THT, Helu and Royster), he's a one cut and go type of back
Here's what I don't like..
- he's clearly unproven, we only have a small sample size to work with
- he's a rookie so of course he needs to work on his blocking (this has improved as the preseason has progressed however)
- he put the ball on the ground 16 times in college, this will be the biggest hurdle to overcome if it rears it's ugly head in the pros
- he lacks burst in the second level but IMO more than makes up with it with above average strength, vision and balance (this is a wash)
- he will more than likely forgo 3rd-down duty to THT regardless
All in all I think you could do far worse with your RB lottery ticket. I will personally be taking late round fliers in a majority of leagues as a I see 1,000 yard 10 TD potential. There is upside here.

Which means what exactly? They have to see where Royster is at now. Starters don't play in the 4th preseason game. Also, put that team in your sig. It's really annoying seeing a wall of players every time you post in a thread.
