Trade: Willis McGahee and Marshawn Lynch for Wes Welker

Postby FantasyChick13 » Mon Aug 27, 2012 10:50 pm

I am thinking up a trade offer for Wes Welker. I am in an 8 person league so I ended up getting pretty good depth at both positions.

Here is the offer I was thinking about making. (the guy who I am offering has poor RBs)

I give up Lynch and McGahee
I get Wes Welker

If this trade went through I would pick up Peyton Ellis (free agent) to give me insurance on Jamaal Charles. I feel like the trade would benefit me. Here are my thoughts on my current players.

RB: (Guys who I think will be consistent starters for me listed first)
S- Jamaal Charles- I like Charles to have good year in a run heavy offense.
S- Matt Forte- He is a top ten RB and I feel like he will be a consistent producer.
Marshawn Lynch- I feel like he is a big time risk, despite his talents. His off field stuff is very unappealing to me.
Willis McGahee- He is an old RB, which obviously increases chances of injury
Benjarvus - Hard to tell with him, but I feel like he could do some good things.

WR:
S- Roddy White- week in and week out starter
S*-Marques Colston- good consistent receiver, potential starter
Steve Johnson- solid player with room to grow
Pierre Garcon- Feel like he will have some good weeks.
Sidney Rice- Huge question mark here, but if he can even resemble what he used to be he will pull down good numbers.
*I would like to have Wes Welker as my second starting WR.

A lot to chew on here. What do you guys think? Is the trade fair? Am I giving up too much?

I do think you'd be giving up too much. Lynch on his own might get the trade done, so I'd start there.

You're giving up way too much. Lynch alone may still be too much. Try offering McGahee or Green-Ellis plus Steve Johnson for Welker.
