Celebrating the Champ

Postby bjoliva » Tue Aug 28, 2012 3:00 am

Recently read Blount's "The Art of Being Commish" and he suggests that a way to maintain long standing interest in a league is to celebrate the previous year's champ at your draft, so that people see that and envision themselves being "that guy".

I like the idea, so I ask my fellow commissioners:

What are ways we can do this without going over the top? Maybe we should aim to go over the top?

Here are some ideas I've had

Birthday Cake and we sing to him.
Gatorade dump.
Do some type of narration of the champ's season, similar to NFL's "Season in Review"... read by the runner up.
Championship Belt?
We actually have a traveling trophy so we're probably gonna do some type of trophy presentation...
Somehow incorporate Queen- We Are The Champions

Help me out here guys. Thanks!
