Fourth Pick in 2 RB/3 WR League - WHIR

Postby hopsjr2 » Tue Aug 28, 2012 8:17 am

I have the fourth pick in a league that starts 2 RB/3 WR with NO FLEX. All TDs are six points - 1/2 PPR - 3 point bonus for 40 yard TD for all players.

My educated guess is that Rodgers will be off the board meaning that I will be deciding by one of the "Big Three" RBs, Brees/Brady and Calvin Johnson.

Right now I'm leaning toward Brees because we only start 2 RBs with no flex.

Thoughts?

How many people are in the league (10/12/14/16)?

Either way I would go with the top RB's. Either way you can't go wrong but, I feel the QB position is a bit deeper than the RB. If it's a 10 team league I would grab a RB and you should get a decent QB in the second round. Stafford/Vick/Eli/etc...

I'm wondering how many people are going with your line of thinking because of the no flex.

Normally I'd say there's good value at qb in 3-5 but in your case I'd be looking to pull the trigger in the second. You still might get a nice find in the third due to people taking the top receivers and the big 3 t/e in the second.

Take this with a grain of salt, as it's only my second year playing.

If you think a top tier QB will be available in Rd 2, I would go with Brees or Brady with your pick. If you look at the points difference between a tier 1 qb and tier 2 qb the difference is huge.

There areprobably ways to improve the RB position later in the draft or during the season, but it is unlikely you can do that at QB. Outside of the top 3, there is enough uncertainty this year that you could do well if you get lucky. Especially with no Flex, the value of a RB takes a small hit IMO.

I would go QB.

I would go top tier QB like Brees, if you can get him.
The difference between the 1st tier and 2nd tier is crazy.
