Just finished my first draft (5th pick in 8-man PPR league).
Did as suggested some places and didn't draft a defense or kicker.
I figure that the strategy mostly applies to early drafts, but there's still 8 days left so thought i'd go with it.
My team ended up being:
QB: Ryan
RB1: McCoy
RB2: Murray
WR1: Welker
WR2: Nelson
TE: Graham
Flex: S. Jackson
BN: Eli Manning
BN: Dez Bryant
BN: Dwayne Bowe
BN: Steve Johnson
BN: Kenny Britt
BN: Peyton Hillis
BN: C.J. Spiller
BN: Donald Brown
Was a little pissed at myself when i took Graham over McFadden, but Murray fell to me in 4th round (lol), so still ended up with a high risk high reward RB - and a consistent stud TE. And SJAX felt to 5th round, so got him if Murray gets injured.
The league rules are 6 pts for QB tds and there's a lot of yard bonus points, but for both passing, rushing and receiving.
Guess this caused Rodgers to go second and Brees third. Rice went fourth and then i had to choose between Brady and McCoy.
Took McCoy as my top 3 has always been the three stud RBs, but that left me a little off at QB, which is my main weekness.
What do you think? Is the rest of the team good enough to compensate for Ryan? Think he'll have a good year, but still.
