James Jones has been the Packers' second-best receiver behind Jordy Nelson during training camp.
Jones rededicated himself this offseason and says he's in the best shape of his career. Still, it's going to be hard for Jones to capitalize on his newfound motivation. He's battling with Donald Driver and Randall Cobb behind starters Nelson and Greg Jennings.

Jones has talent, his biggest problem has always been dropped passes.

James Jones is expected to start opposite Jordy Nelson if Greg Jennings (doubtful, groin) sits out Thursday's game versus the Bears.
On the field in the Packers' three-wide packages, Jones played 62-of-72 snaps in the opener. He should equal that 86 percent this week. If not for a ticky-tack offensive pass interference call, his stat line would have read 5/114/1 versus the 49ers. Assuming Jennings doesn't suit up, Rotoworld ranks Jones 28th among fantasy receivers this week -- just ahead of presumed slot receiver Randall Cobb. With Jennings' Green Bay future up in the air, Jones is a recommended Dynasty trade target as well.

The most telling stat in that blurb IMO.

Also, rumors swirling that the Packers may be trying to deal Jennings prior to the Oct. 30th (I think) trade deadline for cap reasons (Jennings looks like a lock to be playing elsewhere in 2013) makes Jones a guy who should be universally rostered.

6 catches in two games, one game without Jennings should remind people of why Jones is still one of those guys keep thinking may breakout. Something is wrong if you can't blow up in the Packers O if given as many chances as Jones has had. Jordy passed him by, and it looks as if Cobb has as good a chance to be Jennings replacement. Frustrating to see a dude with all the measurables yet cannot seem to put it all together.

For all the years he's been a Packer, he's had maybe 3 or 4 real good games. Drops a LOT of passes... Just seems to be a "Guy".

Take it from a life long Packer fan who watches every game... he's nothing special. He's had his chances and has never done a thing.
