5th Pick 10 TM First Timer - Thoughts?

Postby ScissorMeTimbers » Fri Aug 31, 2012 10:07 am

I finally caved and joined a Fantasy League, can't even lie. I'm stoked. Despite my enthusiasm I'm not quite sure how I feel about my team, and I am having a hard time deciding on my W/R Flex slot so if you have any suggestions or advice I would appreciate all of it! 5th Overall Pick got me:

QB - Matthew Stafford (Rd 2 pk 16)
RB - LeSean McCoy (Rd 1 pk 5)
RB - Maurice Jones-Drew (Rd 3 pk 25)
WR - Dez Bryant (Rd 6 pk 56 love/hate relationship right now)
WR - Mike Wallace (Rd 4 pk 36)
TE - Tony Gonzalez (Rd 8 pk 76)
W/R - Steve Johnson (Rd 10 pk 96)
K - Mason Crosby (Rd 9 pk 85)
D/ST - GB Packers (Rd 7 pk 65)

BN - Josh Freeman (QB - Rd 13 pk 136)
BN - Roy Helu (RB - Rd 13 pk 125)
BN - Doug Baldwin (WR - RD 15 pk 145)
BN - Robert Meachem (WR - Rd 11 pk 105)
BN - Reggie Wayne (WR - Rd 5 pk 45...probably a bad choice for rd 5)
BN - Coby Fleener (TE - Rd 12 pk 116)

So obviously I'm pretty new to this, picking Reggie Wayne round 5 when I could have done a lot better...overall, how did I do? I don't know who to throw in that W/R Flex slot, Steve Johnson, Reggie Wayne and Roy Helu are up for consideration but I am having a tough time picking my starter. Thank again for any help, hoping to learn a lot this season so I can help others eventually!

Your team look solid with the flex being your weakness. If MJD holdout continues longer your team takes a big hit and you will need to find some replacements. I'm not to crazy about Steve Johnson, Mike Wallace, or MJD. MCCoy and Stafford should be studs. help w. mine plz.

I can find fault at RB2. I MJD comes back soon and in football shape, you will be good to go!! Otherwise I'd be working a trade for a solid RB2. You could probably fill in for a few weeks with Ronnie Brown if he is available. Good Luck and thanks for getting mine!

Accepted a trade offer. MJD (RB) and Steve Johnson (WR) for Steven Jackson (RB) and A.J. Green (WR). So now my starting lineup looks like

QB - Matthew Stafford (Rd 2 pk 16)
RB - LeSean McCoy (Rd 1 pk 5)
RB - Steven Jackson (Trade)
WR - A.J. Green (Trade)
WR - Mike Wallace (Rd 4 pk 36)
TE - Tony Gonzalez (Rd 8 pk 76)
W/R - Dez Bryant (Rd 6 pk 56 love/hate relationship right now)
K - Mason Crosby (Rd 9 pk 85)
D/ST - GB Packers (Rd 7 pk 65)

Looking better?

i think that was a good trade. jackson is more reliable than MJD cause of the holdout and i think aj green has top 5 potential
