Jason Witten went undrafted in my league

Postby mike208 » Sun Sep 02, 2012 5:54 pm

I assume because of the spleen injury, everyone passed on Jason Witten in my league. I have Jimmy Graham as my starter, but I did not draft a backup TE as I feel its a pretty safe position and I could just grab a guy to fill in on the bye week. Well with someone of wittens calibre still on the market I am thinking he might be worth picking up over lets say a nate washington or ryan williams who are on my bench. Is he worth spending my 6th waiver position on?

I'm just a rookie, but i think you should hold off on him for a while til you see some production.

I would hold off - Witten is getting further testing this week, so wait and see what the results are. You don't need another TE until week 6 and other than that you're gonna start Graham in every game. Do NOT drop Ryan Williams - he could turn out to be pretty good this season.

He's definitely worth and add, but you are set at TE. I'd not drop a piece I think I might need later, like Williams

Thanks. I drafted Williams because he could be something this year like you all said. I was just letting yahoos projections get to me a little. He is only projected ta like 80 points or something crappy. But even if he doesn't start he should take over when beanie eventually gets injured. I just feel like witten would be a great backup, or bye week fill in for Graham. I don't see any way witten isnt ready to play by week 6, unless he somehow reinjures himself. But I agree I am not sure if I want to drop any of my could be players to pick him up. Here is the rest of my squad in case you guys see a better option.

Starters
D. Brees
J. Nelson
P. Harvin
S. Jackson
D. Martain
J. Graham
S. Ridley(I drafted him expecting him to start and produce a little in new england, but it was a pick I took a lot of crap over from my other league mates. Is he a good swap for witten? Unfortunately our flex spot only allows WR/RB, not TE).
Alex Henery
J. Laurinatis
C. McCarthy
S. Weatherspoon
S. Tulloch

Bench
J. maclin
M. Vick
P. Hillis
N. Washington
R. Williams
P. Garcon
D. Wilson

He's activated for tonight. Don't really need him this week, but should I snag him before someone else does? I think I should, just not sure who to drop to get him?
