Trading Eric Decker for Jason Whitten

Postby geeksincleats » Wed Sep 05, 2012 10:20 am

Hey guys, first off I WHIR for every post!!!

I'm weak at TE, I'm stacked at WR, take a look:

1. (8) Chris Johnson RB
2. (17) Cam Newton QB
3. (32) A.J. Green WR
4. (41) Greg Jennings WR
5. (56) Stevie Johnson WR
6. (65) Willis McGahee RB
7. (80) Eric Decker WR
8. (89) Beanie Wells RB
9. (104) Isaac Redman RB
10. (113) David Wilson RB
11. (128) Michael Crabtree WR
12. (137) Brandon LaFell WR
13. (152) Kyle Rudolph TE
14. (161) Philadelphia DEF
15. (176) Jason Hanson K

I play 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 W/R/T Flex - I plan on playing 3 WRs every week, and I feel I can deal from WR to vastly improve my TE.

What do you guys think of this potential trade???

I feel better about Decker this year than Witten, but you have so much depth at WR that I think it is worth the risk.

If you are able to I may fish some offers out there for Vernon Davis, but if Witten is healthy he has a ton of upside.

Pull the trigger.

I think with your wr depth, you could fish around for a better option at TE. I think Decker has more value then witten. I might try a few other places and maybe offering less then Decker for some value TE like Celek

Agree with this. Decker is a very popular pick this year with Peyton throwing to him. I'd think you'd be able to trade him for a better/safer(injury) TE than Witten.

Think I just heard you on SiriusXM, either that or someone has your exact problem.

Just wanted to clarify my earlier post, I don't mind giving Decker, but I would want someone a little better then Witten, or at least not with the injury concerns that Witten has. I also agree with John Hansen, I really like Rudolph, so I don't think you're as bad in that area as you might think. I would also look for values off the WW, or maybe a trade for a guy like Celek who I think is undervalued and could be gotten for less then Decker IMO.
