Rookies 2004?

If Fitzgerald tries to enter the draft he'll probably be allowed.

The rule is that you have to be 3 years removed from high school. Fitzgerald graduated 3 years ago, but then spent a year at a military academy, and then the next year began his freshman season at Pitt, so technically he's 3 years removed from his graduation.

That being said, I think Roy Williams is a more prototypical NFL receiver than Fitzgerald.

Doubtful. He is a much more prolific passer than Dorsey was in college.

It's all about the RBs. Perry, Jones, Barber.

The biggest problem is that you have no idea who's gonna draft them yet. I mean, I think Eli Manning could be great, but if he gets drafted by Arizona for example, my enthusiasm would be a bit tampered. Kevin Jones and Chris Perry have the potential to be great NFL backs, but if they go early in the draft, and some guy gets drafted round 2-3 (Darren Sproles, the Mighty Mite?) to a strong team, he could blow up.

That said, I like Manning, Fitzgerald, Jones, and Mike Williams

You think my Minnesota boy Marion Barber III has a chance at being a good NFL back?

Anyone care to opine as to how late in the first round Larry Fitzgerald would go were he to enter the draft this year?

In other words, do you suppose the Jets could get him? (Because they sure could use him.)

And we're talking the NFL draft, not fantasy draft. In case you were confused.

It's more about what team the player lands with than the player himself. If the Broncos pick Perry, I doubt he will be "the man." But it's a different story if someone like Dallas grabs him.

I completely agree. Situation determines fantasy relevance in the majority of situations. Is Anquan Boldin a better reciever than Charles Rogers or Andre Johnson? Thats debateable, but dont look at this yrs stats for the answer.

I think Chris Perry will be a stud NFL back if he gets into the right situation, but that may just be because Im a U of M Alumn and am completely biased, but maybe not.

In truth, looking for a rookie to step in and contribute to a fantasy team is always a crapshoot.

Watch out for Darren Sproles if he lands in a team without a solid RB situation. I saw him play a few games and he runs a lot like Clinton Portis. Especially in the game against OU. If he gets behind a mediocre line he could do some serious damage.
