Houston Texans running back Arian Foster has no doubt he'll play Sunday. His coach isn't so sure.
Gary Kubiak said Foster is a game-time decision for Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins, according to Jon McClain of the Houston Chronicle. McClain said Kubiak "didn't sound real encouraging" in discussing Foster's situation.
Scary news for Arian Foster owners, like me. Will he see a reduced workload against a weak team? Will he even play?
I hate seeing my number 1 pick listed as questionable for week 1. I can see the Texans leaning on Tate against a weaker opponent and stashing Foster until he is 100%.
Foster thinks he will play, says he is fine, but the coach sounds much less certain. I'm not too certain myself.
Any thoughts on what do do with Foster this week, considering that Foster owners might not have a lot of options? In my case I have T-Rich (also listed as questionable) and Frank Gore in reserve. What should I do?

I wish I did have Tate, but the cost of handcuffing Foster was just too high for me.

I have Foster and handcuffed him with Tate. I can't imagine a situation where you'd take a #1 pick and not take his backup when:
-The #1 pick has an injury history -His backup happens to have great burst and is a talent in himself -He's the #1 pick that's the riskiest pick, period!
Am I missing something, but how do I use bullets? The "asterisk" button does not create the tag.
I don't have Foster, but I have Tate in all three of my redraft league as I was willing to overpay based on Foster's injuries as well as the fact that tate outproduced Foster in many areas last year.
I wouldn't panic on Foster yet if you believe that the MRI did in fact come up clean. I will say that I think HOU is the lock of the year to beat MIA and thus I can see Foster getting 8-10 carries max even if he plays. But given his ability 10 carries may still result in 80 yards and a TD.
im monitoring this closely as well, because i need a RB this week and have Tate on my bench. I drafted him as a late round lottery ticket. He could have a similar year to Larry Johnson when Priest Holmes went down if Foster ever misses serious time. Never know what a game time decision means. But this early in the season, they might choose to sit him and get him healthy before throwing him out there, but most likely they will play him sparingly and see how he looks...which doesnt help any of us fantasy owners.
If foster starts, depending on your other options, starting foster and Tate may be an alternative as I can see them both having big games. My alternatives, for example, are Matthews, mcgahee and Reggie bush, so in my case starting both is something to think about.
Gosh dang it. If I had wanted this kind of drama with my top pick I would have chosen Helu and his band of merry back-ups. Have no move but to wait for Lung to tell me the actives in the chat room before the game and go from there. Now, can anybody link me up to the %#^@%^%&^&@$ You thread
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?
