McGahee or Tate? (WHIR)

Postby Sydewinder » Fri Sep 07, 2012 3:23 pm

Will Help In Return. Post a link to your question if you want me to weigh in.

I'm already starting Forte and Charles in RB1/2 spots, and my 3rd WR is Boldin, so I was going to start McGahee in the Flex, even against the mighty Pittsburgh Steelers Defense.

I also own Ben Tate, and basically was only going to use him this season as a bye-week filler or if Foster went down due to injury again. Now Foster tweaked something in practice, and I can't decide if McGahee will either a) get enough touches if PIT goes up early and DEN is forced to let Peyton air it out the entire second half, or b) even be involved much in the passing game to be a target of Peyton's at all.

Two part question:
1) If Foster is inactive Sunday, do I start Tate over McGahee?
2) If Foster is active Sunday, do I start Tate over McGahee thinking Houston will run the hell out of the ball so there will be more than enough for Tate and a limited-Foster?

.5 PPR league, TD plays over 40 yds give a 2-pt bonus. All else is standard decimal scoring (.1 per receiving/rushing yard)

call me crazy but id roll with Tate either way.

Miami is much softer than Pitt. He should see carries either way (torched them last year) and Foster will likely be as limited as possible.

help me out?

I'll call you crazy, but I'm about ready to jump ship and get my own straight-jacket. I keep hearing how "there's enough carries in Houston for both Foster and Tate", but I know what relying on second-string touches can do some times...

I'm in the same ship as you with Tate and I actually think I may be inclined to start Tate over a guy like Sproles even. Might be madness but the payoff can be huge.

help with mine? Perhaps you can talk me out of it haha
