First year player-looking forward to it

Postby GenericUsername » Sat Sep 08, 2012 6:18 am

Hey guys, I'm new to Fantasy Football and this is my first year. I'm playing ESPN's standard, head to head PPR league, with a major buff to points. I'll be the first to admit I've made a couple of mistakes in my draft, but nothing too major. Anyways, here's my lineup, and I'm open for any advice!

QB: Aaron Rogers
RB: Darren Sproles
RB: Kevin Smith (FA pick, use him while he's "healthy")
WR: Greg Jennings
WR: Jordy Nelson
WR: Percy Harvins
TE: Rob Gronkowski
Def: Ravens
K: Robbie Gould

Bench:
QB: Matt Ryan
RB: Ryan Matthews (hoping for a speedy recovery)
RB: Issaic Redmond
RB: Donald Brown (Probably going to start most games)
WR: Robert Meachem
WR: Torrey Smith
TE: Fred Davis

Yes, I know I don't have a very strong RB, so I've picked up a couple FA, hoping to find a good matchup over the weeks. I'm playing in a league of 8.
Team: Snappy Japs
QB: Aaron Rogers
RB: Ryan Matthews, Alfred Morris
WR: Jordy Nelson, Percy Harvin,Torrey Smith/Titus Young
TE: Rob Gronkowski
K: Greg Zuerlein
DST: Available for matchup

I'd try to trade Matt Ryan for some better RBs.

yep- I think you need RB help also, so trading Ryan would make sense

First off, welcome to the Cafe, it will be your friend!

I actually have no issue with your RB. I'd roll out Matthews and Sproles every week and feel good. I would be more concerned how tied to the Packers you are... live in GB by chance ;-)

Yeah, for the first couple of weeks I'm going to have a light RB situation. Hopefully, Matthews will get better to start around Week 3ish. The only problem is that everyone who has good RB's already have pretty good QB's as well.

And no, I actually live in Hawaii. I knew I wanted Rogers. Jennings and Nelson were the best WR available at the time. Like I said, first time with mistakes lol

Just my two cents but I'd be starting Brown over Sproles every week.

As for trading Ryan, yes, a great time to try to sell him high. Maybe work a trade with him and a 2nd tier WR off your bench to get another 1st tier WR that's not from GB and a 2nd tier RB.
Thank God for Football Season.
