The Portis Impact

Postby CellarDweller » Tue Dec 09, 2003 12:05 pm

In our leage, a team who barely made the playoffs knocked out his division champ solely because of Portis. Given the timing of Clinton's big day, I was wondering, how many other teams lost in the first round of playoffs due to Portis?

same thing happened in our. except I got knocked out by Jeff Garcia. 6 freaking TD's and him still in the game up by 40 in the 4th. I hate the 49ers.

In our league those guys separated the better teams from the lesser ones. The best four teams play this week.

In my league this was the first week on the playoffs and the top 2 seeds got byes, The next two seeds are the ones with Garcia and Portis so that is how the better ones got in.

Yea, this is what I though might be happening. It's too bad when a good team gets beaten by a lesser team due to a single player having an outstanding day.

Portis crushed me in a meaningless end of season game in my money league, I actually managed to beat Portis (without Garcia) in a Yahoo league. I had a lot of guys with 2 TD's.

Definitely skews alot of games in a crucial time of the year. Ouch.

Yeah, the big game from Portis made a huge impact on the fantasy footballseason. People were put in the play-offs by him, denied a play-off berth because of him, and knocked out of the play-offs because of his 5 TD game.

I had Tomlinson, Lewis, Taylor, Vanderjagt and New England D in one of my teams (147 total points). I was happy as hell until I realized this was my bye week.
