Postby con-vicks » Wed Sep 12, 2012 10:15 am

Hey guys so i won week 1 but i dont want to slack and fall asleep on any potential pickups. This is a PPR League...

Here is my team:

Starters: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF

QBs - Matt Ryan/Joe Flacco
RBs - Darren McFadden, Matt Forte, McGahee, Donald Brown
WRs - G. Jennings, Percy Harvin, Victor Cruz, Sidney Rice, Brandon Lafell
TEs - Antonio Gates, Coby Fleener

Waiver possibilities:

Titus Young, James Jones, Alshon Jeffery, Donald Jones, Nate Burleson

What do you guys think? should i hold for now or pick one of these guys and drop who?

I would stay put. All of your guys have more potential this year than what the WW has to offer...

James Jones is the only guy worth taking right there and it would still be nice to see another game or 2. I agree you should sit tight.

Is this a PPR league? Keeper league?

Your WR's are good as long as Jennings gets healthy and performs and LaFell plays to his potential finally. I like Titus Young but he is entering his sophmore year so the question remains if he keeps the momentum from the 2nd half of last season or regresses somewhat.

See if you can muster a 2-1 trade and upgrade your WR core. If Jennings limps throughout the season and you have to rely on both Rice and LaFell to carry your team it could be a long year for you. I would take advantage of LaFell's Week 1 output and offer him and another wideout for a top wideout. Then go pick up Young out of free agency.

I would stay put as well. LaFell is your weakest receiver and IMO he has as much upside and uncertainty as any of the waiver wire pickups. I would also consider finding a 2-1 for one trade. You have depth especially at QB. If you are only going to use Flacco as a bye week player then try and trade him and someone else for an elite player.

McCluster would be a good pickup as well. Especially in PPR leagues.

Thank you for the replies! Yes it is PPR. Which WR would you combine with Lafell? Would you guys consider dropping Donald Brown or Coby Fleener for anyone? James Jones will have a lot of upside if Jennings is limited.

I would also drop Fleener, but not Brown. Even with Gates injury history i probably wouldnt carry 2 TE all year. That's just dead weight.

I was loving Titus Young until week 1. Didnt see the game but it looks like he was an afterthought. i'm keeping him for 1 more week before dropping him. I'd pick up McCluster and Young if i were you. If young doesnt do anything for the next couple of weeks i'd dump him again.
