Have WW priority, need a productive WR but which one?

Postby Ragnar » Wed Sep 12, 2012 4:02 pm

Lost big in week #1. I have a bunch of just "ok" recievers. I realize if a player is on the WW, he likely will not turn into a stud but given my WR's below, would you drop any for the available WR's???

Have
Vincent Jackson
DeSean Jackson
Robert Meachem
Santonio Holmes
Darrius Heyward-Bey

Available/considering
Nate Washington
Brandon LaFell
Stephen Hill
Kevin Ogletree
Alshon Jeffery

My current guys are (or were) the #1 WR for their team at the start of the season. For instance, Holmes got the most balls thrown his way but Hill way out produced in fantasy this week. I don't want to overreact from one bad week but as you know, WR production is so unpredictable. Should I just stick with what I have & hope the #1's come around or change it up now since I have first pick?

You could make a case for any of those wideouts in free agency but the Cowboys are high on Ogletree and will use him more in the slot throughout the season. I would drop Meachem for Ogletree.

Meachem is the most droppable out of that group and I'd say it's a toss-up between Ogletree and Hill.

Personally I like Hill better. Holmes is really his only 'concerning' competition for grabs whereas Ogletree is competing with Austin, Dez, and Whitten.

Dallas also has a solid run game and NYJ do not (despite what we saw in week 1). My thoughts are NYJ will be forced to throw more and let's not forget Ogletree was targeted as much as he was to exploit a HUGE weakness in NYG's secondary (matched up against 4th and 5th string corners). His matchups will not be as inviting as the season progresses.

I still think Ogletree is a hot commodity and makes a great WR3 option as Romo does figure to work him in the passing game, but I'd be shocked if he kept up the production he posted in game 1. It would not surprise me if Hill kept up his.

Thanks for the help with mine.
