A manager put Newton on the block. This might be a good time to buy low in case he has a big game against Saints D. What kind of trade offers would you make?
14 team, Head to Head league, Non-keeper 50 passing yards = 1 point 20 rushing/receiving yards = 1 point Touchdown = 6 points Interception/Fumble = -2 points Return Touchdowns = 6 points 2-Point Conversions = 2 points
My team QB - Michael Vick WR - Mike Wallace, Darius Hewyard-Bey RB - Darren McFadden, Cedric Benson TE - Jimmy Graham W/T - Jermichael Finley W/R - Alfred Morris K - Nate Kaeeding D - Lions BN - Isaac Redman (RB), Josh Freeman (QB), Ryan Fitzpatrick (QB)
His team QB - Cam Newton WR - Vincent Jackson, Randall Cobb RB - Doug Martin, Mark Ingram TE - Rob Gronkowski W/T - Antonio Gates W/R - Stevan Ridley K - Alex Henery D - Giants BN - Rashad Jennings (RB), Santonio Holmes (WR), Aldrick Robinson (WR)
Thats a tough call. Not knowing the WW in a deeper league,you risk a big open roster spot. I think you would have to make a decent offer for it to work, he is still a top 10 QB but Vicks not far either. I'd hold off for a bit. IMHO Thanks for help
QB D. Brees RB A. Peterson === A. Morris, M. Bush, M. LeShoure, A. Green, R. Jennings WR P. Harvin, B. W. Welker,=== D. Amendola FLX TE J. Graham === A. Hernandez, K. Rudolph K G. Zuerlein
I'm not necessarily looking to improve my team immediately by making this trade. I'm looking to buy low so that I can trade one of my QBs for another position once their stock rises, if ever.
He's a Newton owner with no backup QB that is trying to dump him after one week. He's obviously not high on him. I don't value Newton over Vick...their production barring injury should be roughly the same. Benson for Santonio would be in his favor, so I'm not entertaining that idea. I prefer DHB for Cobb, but I'd really rather try to get something more out of it. Here is what I'm thinking:
Fitz/Morris for Newton/Ridley
This would only go through if he values Morris over Ridley. I'm not sold on Morris being the starter all year. If he is, he might very well put up better numbers than Ridley. I'm willing to take that risk. If he balks, I can counter with Martin. Or maybe I should be going Martin first, then counter with Ridley?
I doubt he goes for QB Fitzpatrick but you can try. He'll probably counter with Freeman/Morris (or Vick/Morris ) but would definitely stick with Newton/Ridley over Newton/Martin.
Agreed, considering I just picked up Fitz when he could have done the same. It just depends on if he values Morris over what he has. I'd be fine with giving up Freeman instead but Freeman didn't do well enough this past weekend to help his value any.
sorry but if i was offered Fitzpatrick and Morris for Newton/Ridley i would be insulted
This isn't a 2 QB league so I'm not sure why you want to have both Vick and Newton, doesn't make much sense to have one of those guys on the bench every week.
I would much rather have Newton then Vick simply because Newton is a big guy that can absorb hits and Vick is fragile. Newton would have a better chance of staying healthy while putting up slightly better numbers then Vick.
I'd offer the Vick/DHB trade that the other guy proposed to get the ball rolling
