Looking Ahead… Need Advice

Postby jfreyesrd » Thu Sep 13, 2012 3:12 pm

I've already won my Week 1 Matchup and will be facing the best team this week.

My league starts QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, TE, Flex, K, 3 IDP and this is my roster:
QB: A. Rodgers
WR: W. Welker, Andre Johnson, D. Bowe, P. Garcon, Manningham, A. Jeffry, K. Wright
RB: F. Gore, C. Spiller, K. Moreno
TE: J. Witten, J. Tamme
K: G. Hartley, B. Cundiff
IDP: D'Q. Jackson, R. Lewis, L. Fletcher, J. Anderson

Besides getting a backup for Rodgers (pick that will replace one of the Ks), what areas should I look to improve?

Very weak at RB, Moreno has never shown much ability - McGahee is the lead back there and Hillman is waiting in the wings (but still very raw at the moment) - you really need a couple more RB's - who's available on the WW?

I agree RB is your weak spot.

I'd try to trade a WR or two to get a better RB. Maybe Welker and a lower tier guy?

WW is empty, I'll have to go with the trading option.

Thanks for the help!

broken record time, you've got 7 WR's and 3 RB's, definitely need to trade for an RB, if no1 is available.

I seem to like your RB's more than everyone else, Spiller finished strong last year and looks great so far this year. Not sure what happens when jackson returns, but I think Spiller will still put up decent numbers regardless. Gore has had injury issues in the past, but he seems to be holding his own in San Fran. I would try to trade one of those 7 (wow, and I thought I had a lot) WR's for a top 20 back. Other than that you look solid.

Thanks everybody for your replies, they've been very helpful.

As you may be aware, Spiller and Gore provided me a bunch of points this week. However, paying close attention to Sunday games ended up picking up Daryl Richardson and Andre Brown (who did a good work stepping in due to injuries of Bradshaw and S. Jackson)

Now my roster looks like this:
-League starts QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, TE, Flex, K, 3 IDP :
QB: A. Rodgers, S. Bradford
WR: W. Welker, Andre Johnson, D. Bowe, P. Garcon, Manningham, K. Wright
RB: F. Gore, C. Spiller, A. Brwon, D. Richardson
TE: J. Witten, J. Tamme
K: G. Hartley
IDP: D'Q. Jackson, R. Lewis, L. Fletcher, J. Anderson
