Newton vs. Cutler? Who to start?

Postby jeloman » Thu Sep 13, 2012 3:17 pm

Never thought I'd ask this, but should I start Cutler tonight over Cam Newton? Newton didn't look great against Tampa Bay so I'm doubting him a bit.

Newton had a TERRIBLE game last week by his standard and STILL had 300 yds and a TD.

Yes, Jay Cutler has a pretty good matchup this week, but Newton is facing the SAINTS. Last time we saw the Saints defense on the field, they were torched by a rookie NFL QB starting his FIRST game and a recently promoted fourth-string RB. Let me repeat that. 40 POINTS TO A ROOKIE QB AND A ROOKIE RB. AT HOME. I'm starting Cam this week. No hesitation.

I would start Cutler. Chicago is rolling and it looks like Newton is having the proverbial sophomore slump.

I think Cutler will have a a nice game tonight but you have to go with Cam. Cam has a great matchup and you saw the way RGIII sliced up the saints last week. If Stewart plays and can open up the ground game that will make a huge difference, it's much harder to pass when your lead back ends up with -1 yds rushing, although Cam did make a couple bad throws.

Well I'm glad I didn't start Cutler! 120 passing yards, 1TD and 4 picks aren't that great.
