Big trade proposal at QB WHIR

Postby ObeYsXeGianT » Thu Sep 13, 2012 10:37 pm

I am thinking about offering a trade to a guy in my league for Cam. Standard scoring 1 ppr. Play 2 RB and a WR/RB flex.

MY Doug Martin and Matt Schaub for HIS Cam Newton.

I'm not that high on Cam, but he is an upgrade at the QB position for me and the only reason I think this guy will do it is that his backs are Arian Foster, Pierre Thomas, and the injured Fred Jackson. His backup QB is Big Ben who is fresh off of a pretty decent fantasy performance.

I have Steven Jackson, Demarco Murray, Doug Martin, BJGE, and Cedric Benson. I am pretty high on Doug Martin, but after watching BJGE in Baltimore on Monday and Benson showing he can still produce when given some touches, as well as having Reggie Wayne on the bench I could play in flex if I wanted to, I don't feel too bad about it.

My team is stacked IMO except for QB/TE and I think this would be a pretty good improvement. I know there is no certainty that the guy will accept my trade offer of course, but do you think it is worth offering to him? I think there is a decent chance he will accept the trade because of his lack of depth at RB and the injury to Jackson as well as the performance of Cam last week (trying to buy low I guess).

I guess I just need some outside influence to push me to offer the trade because I am not a fan of Cam, and I am pretty doubtful he is going to put up the monster numbers he did last year. But then again I am pretty sure he will at the very least out perform Schaub.

Just post yours and I'll hit you back! Thanks.

I'd go for it, your deep at RB and Cam will rebound after a poor week and turn things around. Good luck.

I'd say it's worth a shot. You both benefit from the trade. He may go for it since he needs the RB, but really, the trade is equivalent to offering Martin for Cam as Schaub would be his backup and rarely used. I think Cam will bounce back. Martin will continue to impress too, so really, Martin for Cam is a fair trade. It may sound like a stretch, but maybe trying offering him Martin for Cam straight up? If he says no, offer to throw in Schaub.

This was very helpful. I am going to try exactly this. I think it just depends on how much stake he puts into the yahoo fantasy evaluate b.s. because it says I am trying to screw him. Which I really don't fell that I am.

I'd go for it, man. Cam had a rough game last week, but he'll bounce back. He's always a threat for a couple rush td's, which is an awesome place to have your QB haha.

You're plenty deep at RB, so I'd go through with the trade.
