Nicks questionable.. WHIR

Postby rasmusDoh » Fri Sep 14, 2012 7:39 pm

8-man PPR league
My team is my signature

I was all set and had decided to start Nicks in the Flex (got Nelson and Harvin at WR).

Now i see that he's questionable, which i didn't know.

Given that it's PPR, should i wait until just before game time and check if he's active - and then start him if he is? He's got a history of playing through pain afaik.
And go with Charles if he sits out?

Or should i just plain go with Charles, and not risk it on an half-injured player as Nicks?

Thanks, WHIR

I would start Charles in the flex over Nicks. I usually start RBs over WRs there when I can, and I think that Nicks will play, but may be hampered.

Good luck.

I'd go with JC ,any team that lets Greene run on them is in trouble with Charles

I agree with the above 2. Charles is the better play regardless of the health of Nicks (admittedly, I'm not much of a fan of Nicks). But because Charles is such a big part of the passing game and has homerun ability, you really can't lose with him, IMO.

Good Luck! ;-D

Tough decision. I would start j charles this week over nicks. Nicks is clearly not 100%, but will likely play. He's always a endzone and deep threat, so he's worth considering starting even if injured. However, Nicks hasn't been playing well pre-season and recorded just three recptions in week 1. Giants will run the ball more against TB and it's likely cruz and benett will carry the bulk of the receptions. I like J charles against the Buffalo. He has done well against this team in the past and they will defintely try to target his more in the passing game this week. Hope this helps

Just remembered that i have Nicks in my second league too (also PPR, and various bonuses)

In that league i already used Jordy Nelson too, and got Welker as my other WR.
I don't Welker will get more targets this week, and since it's PPR i simply can't bench him (i'm also a pats fan lol, so that seals it)

But in my Flex i had Nicks, but also considering replacing him in this league.

I can choose between SJAX, Bryant, S. Johnson, R. Bush and Mathews (don't wanna play him this week though)

I guess it's basically Nicks vs SJAX right?

Kinda feel like SJAX would be the better play here??

As you said, it is definitely a decision between H. Nicks and S. Jackson. I could see both being viable choices. S. Jackson lost two of his best starting offensive linemen last week, while H. Nicks seems like a risky play due to his injury. However, S. Jackson receives a lot of touches and H. Nicks has proven that he can play through injury. I think S. Jackson will receive many more touches than H. Nicks, but he probably won't be able to do much with them. H. Nicks has a greater chance for bigger yardage gains and possibly touchdowns. So S. Jackson if you want to play it safe or H. Nicks if you want a greater reward. I would personally go with H. Nicks.

Charles for sure here.

You definitely need to follow the route of RB over WR in most cases, especially with a guy that is as explosive as JC.

Help?
