PPR League, Flex position can only be WR or TE. My definite offensive starters:
QB - P. Manning WR1 - D. Thomas WR2 - Antonio Brown RB1 - R. Rice RB2 - MJD TE - B. Pettigrew Flex - ? K - M. Nugent
My options for flex are: J. Gresham, R. Meachem, Donald Jones, or Nate Washington. Obviously, Washington is questionable and with Britt returning I'm somewhat hesitant to start him. Jones could benefit greatly from Jackson and Nelson being injured, and KC looked weak against the pass last week. Meachem wasn't on the field much in 2 WR sets against the Raiders, I don't know how much the Chargers plan on using him. Gresham is one of those guys who could get 10 catches and a TD or 1 catch for 5 yards.
Clearly I have a lot of mediocrity and potential to choose from, which way should I go?
really like this team! I drafted Rice as well, and got MJD in round 2. My WR/QB did not end up nearly as good as yours though.
I think D. Jones is your best bet. Meacham will be out of the league before long, I think. If he can't be the number 1 in SD, I don't see him making it. And, he is obviously not the #1. Gresham, as you said, could be big or nothing. I couldn't trust him.
In PPR, I go with the bad D and a team that is not afraid to sling it around. Jones had 7 targets week 1. Now, he should get even more looks.
It's between Washington and Jones for me. I like Washington. Britt is back, but he will limited. Washington will be the number 1 receiver in many sets this week, thus you can guarantee we will get a few plays desinged for him. Jones is still unproven to me. With Nelson out, his fantasy value goes up, but I think it is still a risky play. I would play Washington and keep an eye on Jones, no need to take huge risks this early in the season.
