Is this collusion?

Having an issue in our league and want to determine if we should allow it:

A player realizes last second that Antonio Gates is out and it's too late for him to pick anyone but Tony Scheffler or Joel Dreesen. He then trades Gates for Jacob Tamme so he can play him tonight. The player he traded with tells people that he only did it because they are going to trade back on Tuesday. The other player said that the player I'm playing agreed to send him one of his bench players during another week.

Should we allow this?

You might consider putting some kind of trade approval process in place in to avoid things like this.

I agree with all the above. In my league trades have a min of 24 hours prior to executing, and if a trade is initiated less than 24 hours before kickoff, it doesn't happen until after waivers clear.

Agree. The news about Gates being a game-time decision Sunday has been known all week leading up to the game start. Plenty of time for this owner to acquire another TE before Sunday games.

I'm going to play Devil's advocate here.
You are asking two questions here. 1) Is this collusion? 2) Should we allow this?

1) Yes this is collusion of two teams 'combining' rosters to fill gaps in each others teams.
2) Unless you have specific rules detailing that this is not allowed, you have to let them do it. As others have stated there are checks and balances that keep stuff like this from happening.It appears that your league does not currently have. If it is not against any of your league's rules you should not stop them. Personally, I don't think you should be able to change the league's rules mid-season unless it is voted upon and wins unanimously.

In my league we have a set of rules for stuff like this and people have been kicked out due to breaking of these rules.
I think you let it go this time but put in some rules and reg that everyone agrees on to keep this stuff from happening.
