Is Edelman worth picking up?

Postby epilecutt » Wed Sep 19, 2012 2:22 pm

I have a decent set of WRs:

Calvin Johnson
Miles Austin
DeSean Jackson
Kenny Britt
Torrey Smith

and I doubt Edelman will have an effect on who I'm starting for week 3... but if he continues to see more snaps than Welker, is there a chance that he could be an option later?

Torrey Smith has been a bit of a let-down thus far, DeSean Jackson just hasn't had the edge I'd need to play him over my other options, and Kenny Britt's worth has yet to be seen. With all of this in mind and the recent Hernandez situation being a huge factor in the Pat's offense, could Julian Edelman end up being a decent pick up? If so, is he worth dropping Smith, Jackson, or Britt (with Jackson being the one I'd like to avoid dropping)?

Any opinions/suggestions are appreciated and I thank you all in advance.
Good luck in Wk 3!
QB Matthew Stafford, Michael Vick, Jay Cutler
WR Calvin Johnson, Miles Austin, DeSean Jackson
WR Jeremy Nelson, Torrey Smith
RB Ryan Mathews, Darren McFadden,
RB Darren Sproles, Mikel LeShoure

I think you would need several things to happen for him to make an impact on your roster, most aren't good. It would mean most of your wr's have been hurt or haven't done anything, Welker doesn't have a Welker type year Hernandez is out longer than expected. So all of that in my opinion would need to happen for you to use him. Now if you have room to add him it may keep him from another owner, grab him if he blows up great, if not drop him. It can't hurt.
