Is this too much to give up for Spiller? WHIR

Postby NFL1527 » Thu Sep 20, 2012 8:56 am

Hey gents,

A GM in my pool who has started the year is flipping out a bit as he's 0-2 and has decided to unload Spiller for a 1st rounder. I'm contemplating making this offer.

It's a 12-team keep 2 league so that'll give you an idea of approximately what that 1st will be. My two keepers are Megatron and Foster so I wouldn't keep Spiller beyond this year, just use his (hopefully great) value this year to lead me to the promised land. Would you guys unload a 1st for him, or do you think that's too risky of a deal given the fact FJax will be back in a couple of weeks and that it's so early in the year. I'm also thinking that if I do decide to trade my 1st and go for it I might be better off unloading it for a WR instead of a RB given my current team, or if I do this deal, I could always trade K.Smith/A.Morris for WR help.

Would love to hear feedback on this. Thanks! WHIR

Here's my current team:
QB - Brees
RB - Foster
RB - K.Smith
FLEX - A.Morris
WR - Megatron
WR - Maclin
WR - Blackmon
TE - Celek
----
RB BN - D.Wilson, R.Jennings
WR BN - M.Williams(TB), M.Manningham S.Moss, R.Streater
TE BN - Witten

If he flipping out that bad, ask him for Spiller AND a WR2 for your 1st round pick. If not, I would not give up more than a second round pick for Spiller alone.

help with mine?

Thanks for the feedback. Already tried asking for more, but he's not budging on just wanting a 1st for Spiller by himself as he's really high on him, plus Spiller has keeper potential on his team, so because of that he'll only deal him for a 1st.

Spiller is ranked fourth this week, as in most leagues he would go in the top 10 in drfts. There is no undervaluing spiller. He did the same thinnlast year. He is now a bonified starter and legit rb. You wont be able to give up less than first round for him and i completely agree with the guy holding out.
6pt tds, 1 pt ppr competitive 10 man league
QB Rodgers, Smith
RB MJD, Matthews, Spiller, McGahee, R. williams
WR: J. Jones, Torry Smith, Lafell, Britt, Young
TE: Hernandez, Bennet

I agree, Spiller has looked amazing dating back to the end of last year but FJax's injury isn't season ending and despite the fact Spiller ended the year so amazing last year they still gave the rock to FJax to start this year so it seems as though FJax has a long leash in Buffalo. So are you saying you would or wouldn't do the deal if you were me?

I would not buy spiller for a first... a 2nd maybe but not a first...

His #'s will come way back down to earth when Jackson is healthy and as defenses but their plan around stopping just him.
