I can acquire Philip Rivers via trade but I have to give up Mark Ingram.
Ingram will not ever start for me but with the way RBs are dropping this year, he has value. He will get the most carries in the Saints backfield and is the unquestioned goal-line back for dominant offense (they WILL get it together). He is a 10+ TD guy in this offense. Sproles hasn't even carried the ball once which leads me to believe they want to use him more like a slot receiver this year. Ingram should pick up those carries and when they are playing with the lead, he will be the clock-killer.
I really like what I've seen out of Flacco with the no-huddle offense but I don't know if I can trust him every week. Is Philip Rivers that much of an upgrade over Flacco that he is worth giving up a "starting" RB for? I kind of feel like he is only slightly better than Flacco (this years version of Flacco). I could always grab an Andrew Luck or Alex Smith type backup.
Am I wrong about Rivers not being that much better than Flacco or should I get him now?
12-team PPR QB: Cam Newton, Andrew Luck RB: Lesean McCoy, Darren Sproles, Marcel Reece, James Starks WR: Percy Harvin, Julio Jones, Eric Decker, Randall Cobb TE: Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Meyers D/ST: Rams (streaming) K: Matt Bryant
You're strong enough to shop a RB, and I'd definitely try to get rid of Ingram this week while his value is high. Not sure Rivers will be much of an upgrade over Flacco, I'd try for a middle teir guy with higher upside like Peyton or Romo.
i like rivers this year. i would take him over flacco becuase is think the ravens are gonna go back to the run first offense which worked for them in the past, and i would definitely trade for him if all you have to give up is ingram.
