Would you sit Cam Newton?

Postby Dr. Mundo » Tue Sep 25, 2012 8:00 pm

I think I should sit Cam against the Falcons.
Ponder vs Detroit. Flacco vs Cle, Palmer vs Den, Fitzpatrick vs NE are all still available on the waivers.

The only game that cam has done well so far is when they had Stewart and when they played NO. I'm not sure if its Stewart that is helping their passing game or if that NO just gives points to everyone. Could be both. What do you guys think?

And of course WHIR.

I think in this case, Flacco gives you a better upside for this week. If you can get him without dropping anyone too valuable (aka without droppign Newton) I'd start him this week. After seeing what the Falcons have done to Manning and Rivers these last two weeks, I wouldnt bet on Newton, especially considering Carolina's lack of running game.

Flacco seems like a safer start. But cam always has the ability to go off.

I'm in the same situation right now.
After weighing matchups like Cam v ATL, Dalton v JAX, Ponder v Detroit, Flacco v CLE, Fitz v NE, and Kolb v MIA, Cam doesn't look like the best option.
Of the options you list, I'd also go with Flacco against CLE's passing D. Should put up some good numbers.

I also like how Ponder's looking heading into DET...just in case someone grabs Flacco before you do :-o

I'd stick with Cam. It's between him and Flacco for me. Flacco has a favorable matchup, but this could be one of those game where Ravens get ahead early and run the ball more the second half. Cam is no question the favorite though. Duel threat, pass run. He'll have a bounce back week. There are only a few players I would start over him this week.

like said above Flacco is the safer choice, but Cam has a higher ceiling
