Which RB to drop for Hilton? WHIR

Postby Philly_05 » Wed Sep 26, 2012 12:40 am

I'm going to try to get Ty Hilton in my 12 team dynasty PPR league. I have narrowed it down to one of 3 RB's to drop for him. Shaun Draughn who has been effective with the opportunities. But will never get much of a shot in KC. Shane Vereen who hasn't seen the field yet. Ridley looked good but he was used very poorly against the Ravens. So once again the Pats backfield looks like a disaster thanks to Bill. Chris Rainey who really hasn't done much. But showed he could be a big play producer in the pre season and could have some nice PPR value down the road. Probably all 3 are drop able but my delusions of grandeur make me think they could be producers down the road lol. :-)

Any of those 3 can definitely be dropped for Hilton even though i don't know if I'd pick up him myself because I think Wayne/Avery will get much more looks. If I had to pick, I'd go with Rainey. He's probably the third/fourth back once Mendenahll comes back.

Thanks what about Powell? He's still on the wire. Also one of the drops this ww run was LaMichael James. I know he hasn't seen action yet with the 49ers but he could be worth a stash.

As a Colts fan, I like Hilton's potential, but I also agree with the previous poster who said that Avery and Wayne will steal a lot of touches from Hilton. If I were to pick him up and drop someone, I'd probably dump Rainey.

I like TY Hilton a lot and Wayne can only play so much longer and could slow down later this year. I would drop Rainey for him. I think Draughn could have some value later this year and Vareen just hasn't had his chance to prove himself yet. He is a solid RB.

Thanks for the help with mine.

So 3 options at this point.. Add Hilton off the wire for Rainey. Try to claim LaMichael James off the wire clears Friday 6th spot out of 12. Or add Powell for Rainey off the wire?

Given Andrew Luck is gonna be a future stud and Hilton has awesome speed I'd take a gamble. That being said, I've never heard of Rainey LOL

I would go with Powell and I'd drop rainey. I don't think that you will be starting hilton over any of your other WRs while Powell has a legitimate shot at taking the starting role from Greene as he saw 44% of the snaps last week and averaged 4.5 ypc against a stout miami run defense. Also the 2nd option for the colts receiving game has been inconsistent from week to week (wk 1:fleener, wk2: Avery, wk3: Hilton) so who knows how things will work out and who will be the consistent #2 guy for Luck.
