Time to drop Kevin Smith?

Postby GeneralTsou » Wed Sep 26, 2012 8:33 am

10-team .5 PPR We start 2 RB and Flex

My RBs are:

Ryan Mathews
Doug Martin
Stevan Ridley
Mikel Leshoure
Peyton Hillis
Kevin Smith

Is Kevin Smith really even a handcuff to Leshoure or is he straight up droppable at this point? I don't think he did all that bad. He had a big game 1 and still put up 70-80 total yds against the stout Niners D before getting straight jobbed in week 3.

QB: Cam Newton, Andrew Luck
RB: Lesean McCoy, Darren Sproles, Marcel Reece, James Starks
WR: Percy Harvin, Julio Jones, Eric Decker, Randall Cobb
TE: Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Meyers
D/ST: Rams (streaming)

I might hold onto him one more week or two only because you have Leshoure.

I don't know what the rest of your roster looks like to tell you if you could really use a player in free agency.

might not be a bad idea but I could drop Smith for Jahvid Best. Always good to be ahead of the game

I agree, drop Smith and pick up Best... Next couple games will be tough for DET runners anyways so you may not be using either one, your other RB's will hold you through....

Anyone else think I should drop him now versus waiting one more week?

im thinking of dropping him for Jacquizz rodgers. my RB depth is deep with McCoy, Mathews, SJax, B. green ellis.

I think my depth allows me to drop smith and take a gamble on rodgers who I believe at this point has more upside. thoughts?

I'd drop Smith to pick up Rodgers. Rodgers is getting more and more playing time and could end up being valuable trade bait for you if he becomes the full-fledged starter, whereas Smith is on his way out (and may already be all the way out)...

I agree completely. Rogers on the rise and Smith on the decline. Swap em out!
