just traded Jamaal Charles and Malcolm Floyd for Ryan Matthews and Dez Bryant
i was real high on Matthews going into draft, haven't seen much to temper that after one game. obviously he had the fumble and now maybe loses goaline touches, but that is not a given, and once he gets first in end zone maybe Norv gives him GL touches back...
Charles needs Hillis to survive the season in my opinion. no way they want him to carry 25 times a game off major knee surgery. he will lose couple TDs to Hillis in my opinion.
Dez SHOULD outscore Floyd from here on out, though worse case for me that would be a wash ( i hope!)
I would do this trade. I am a believer in Matthews and he is back and playing so you don't have to deal with his early season injury. He is just as big as an injury risk as Charles. I think they are both top 10 backs when healthy. Dez isn't playing great right now, but he will contribute and should have better games ahead. Floyd is just OK, I would much rather have Dez.
thanks...yeah i am banking on Mathews getting his injury over with, and Charles still with his to come. not just injury overview though, feel Mathews should equal Charles #s for season and WR upgrade. thanks!
I would do it. The Chargers are going to get better going forward, and Matthews will be a beneficiary of that, especially as his injury gets further in the past. Not sure about riding Charles all season either. Close call on the RB question, but Dez over Floyd is a clear upgrade, IMO.
I agree with everyone else. If you really like Mathews, go for it. Both RB have injury risks and Bryant is an upgrade. Also, won't KC be behind a lot this year?
