Up by 5, bench my defense?

I am up by 5 points he has no one left to go and I have the cowboys. Is it possible for a defense to score negative 5 points? Should I bench them and not play a D just for the outside possibility of that happening or is that crappy edicate or being overly paranoid?

If you win $ for most points for the year...i'd keep Big D in...not much risk there at all

It depends on the league rules, but yes, a DEF can go negative. Look at Kansas City week 1. Hell, I've seen QBs go negative when they start games with interceptions. It all depends on the rules, as a guy said, if overall points will help you it may be worth the risk.
